Working notes from the research, kept verbatim — what was read, what it proved, what stays open. Many open with a line grading the parentage; what the grades mean.
Research note · 7 Oct 2026
AUDITED 7 Oct 2026 - MAIDEN NAME 'JENNINGS' KEPT; PARENTS NOT ENTERED (round-10 triage, Owen). Primary name is now Sarah Elizabeth JENNINGS (birth name); 'Jennings Fowlkes' is kept as an alternate. 'Elizabeth' is compiled-only. The holding evidence for Jennings: the 2013 NRHP nomination for Hyde Park (VDHR 067-0040) calls William Jennings (c. 1702-1775) the father-in-law of [2276] John Fowlkes, citing Amelia Co. Deed Book 7 p. 321 (1760) and p. 638 (1762, Jennings to Fowlkes, 300 acres) - the deed's own wording not yet read; and the names of her son Jennings E. and grandson Paschal Jennings. Agreed in advance (Owen, 7 Oct 2026): if DB 7 p. 638 says son-in-law, attach William Jennings as FATHER ONLY, mother blank.
⛔ DO NOT ENTER 'Col. William Henry Jennings (1676-1775)' and 'Mary Jane Pulliam'. They are the 19th-century Jennens-inheritance fabrication; every online copy goes back to one 2006 self-published book (agent-report-2277-sarah-elizabeth-jennings-fowlkes-2026-10-07.md). Hanover records before 1865 burned, so the 1744 marriage bond is a wall. Her recorded 1730 birth would make her 14 at a 1744 first child - compiled, not a record.
