1627–1717
✦ direct ancestor — Owen's 10×-great-grandfather · Carpenter line appears 2× in the tree — pedigree collapse
✎ This person appears in a case file: № 1 — The ancestor who wrote his own pedigree — Two different kinds of wrong in one line: a nineteenth-century genealogist inventing upward out of vanity, and a twenty-first-century interface inventing sideways out of convenience.

Transcript re-verified in the archive.org text 4 Aug 2026: deponent Humphrey Pope says he inquired 'of the aforesaid Quisenbury, then near 80 years of age', who 'was a chain-bearer and helped mark the aforesaid 1,050 acres of land when the same was first taken up' (the 1651 Nathaniel Pope patent). The compiler infers John's birth ~1627 and earliest Virginia presence 1651 - COMPILER'S INFERENCE on a transcribed record. Printed pages per the 4 Aug agent report (p. 175, abstract p. 169).

Working notes from the research, kept verbatim — what was read, what it proved, what stays open. Many open with a line grading the parentage; what the grades mean.

Audited 26 Jul 2026 - Junction #6: the immigrant. Born 1627 per a sworn 1707 Westmoreland deposition (he was eighty years of age); will 23 Nov 1714, probated 27 Nov 1717, naming exactly three sons. The eleven-child single-parent family F831 is junk/duplicates - five detached, the rest flagged for merging. Everything ABOVE him is A.C.Q. self-declared constructive descent. See ancestry/quisenberry-junction.md.

Audited 26 Jul 2026 - Junction #6 de-duplication. Absorbed [3050] John Quesenbury (1627-1717) - identical dates, and both were attached as children of the same couple. This record carries the real descent. See ancestry/quisenberry-junction.md.
