Gruene Hall was built in 1879, and me and the band are going to use it on Thursday June 5 to get together, drink beer, and sing songs just as Heinrich D. Gruene, the original owner, intended. The only difference between those old times and now is that we will be singing IN COLOR.
We’re also playing the second oldest dancehall in Texas this month – Schroeder Hall – on June 13, however, that show will be acoustic and in black-and-white.
Gigs in San Marcos, Bastrop, Tomball, Luckenbach, and Austin also happening this month, and now that it’s summertime, you can just pack up the kids and bring em to the shows – cause they don’t have to be anywhere in the morning til August, right?
Summer is a good time to start new projects, so if you’re pondering making something, here’s video of a song to encourage you.
Tickets and passes for the Frio River Song Festival are going fast, so we’re looking forward to another great year on the river in August. Make your plans to join us on August 8 & 9 for shows by Hal Ketchum, Jon Dee Graham, Michael Hearne, Kelly Mickwee, Jamie Wilson, Jason Eady & Courtney Patton, Adam & Chris Carroll, and (of course!) myself.
