I’ll be playing a show in downtown Shiner, Texas tomorrow, and I’m hoping to try a few new beers while I’m there.
Here’s one from Shiner that I found that made number #410 on the beer quest…
I had some very good beers in Alaska a few weeks ago, including Alaskan Amber, Midnight Sun IPA, and Skagway Brewing Company’s Spruce Tip Ale (yes, made with the tips of spruce trees).
I’m from Texas, but even I’m willing to admit that a lot of things are bigger in Alaska.

Back in Texas, we recently celebrated that very special and wondrous holiday celebrated joyfully by parents everywhere, “The First Day of School.”
When it comes to summer, I remember the words of Homer Simpson: “Those teachers have a lot of nerve pawning these kids off on their parents”
