Tonight, my buddy Adam Carroll and I will be playing songs in Goliad County at Schroeder Hall.
We will be driving through Luling, Texas on the way down, so of course, we will have to stop in downtown Luling for the low hype, but reliable and amazing brisket, ribs, and sausage from City Market.
If you’re in Austin, drive south down Highway 183, and you’ll know you made it to Luling by the smell of money seeping from a few of the town’s pumpjacks.
Here’s a pumpjack in the city limits that features a tribute to Luling’s third most popular export (after barbecue and oil) – the watermelon.
A City Market / Schroeder Hall day is a good day.
