Research notes

Working notes from the research, kept verbatim — what was read, what it proved, what stays open. Many open with a line grading the parentage; what the grades mean.

Research note · 3 Aug 2026
AUDITED 3 Aug 2026 - TWO GENERATIONS ABOVE THIS MAN DELETED AS UNSUPPORTED; HIS PARENTS ARE NOW DELIBERATELY EMPTY. Owen approved (Batch B, 3 Aug 2026) deleting the whole 6-person island: [3303] "Arnaud de Latane b. 1553" x [3304] "Jehanne Jausselin" (F767), [3307] "Pierre Latane b. 1523" x [3308] "Suzanne du Bignan" (F769), [3309] "Pierre Jausselin" x [3310] "Anne Du Pery" (F770) - zero citations at person, event and name level across all six (asserted by the deleting script rm-apply-batchB-latane-chancery-notes-20260803.py). Controls (ancestry/latane-nerac-origins-worksheet-2026-08-03.md and latane-VERIFICATION-2026-08-03.md, register K30-K33): the two Latane men are absent from Foster's Alumni Oxonienses, Haag's La France protestante (8 vols), Quick's Synodicon (national synods 1559-1659), the Geneva Livre du Recteur (whose first Latane entry is 1605), Baird, and eleven Huguenot Society volumes; corrected control on Quick's 1559-1596 section: Nerac x1, Guyenne x6, Latane x0. [103] himself remains: Le Livre du Recteur (Geneva, 1860) p. 67 carries "Petrus Lataneus Neracensis die XXII Novem. 1605" (reading corrected from the 1924 photostat quoted in Lucy Latane, Parson Latane, 1936) - the right age for a birth abt 1588-90; identity unproven, existence no longer deniable. The Franeker Programma (Andala, quoted in translation in Parson Latane) reaches back only to "men of the first rank in the famous city of Nerac" - a compliment, not a pedigree. Any future parent for this man needs a RECORD naming him.
