Latane, Lucy. Parson Latane, 1672-1732 (1936), quoting in translation the Programma of Ruardus Andala, Academy of Franeker, from a Bodleian photostat
Chapter 'The French Family'
read the transcript
From the Programma of Ruardus Andala, Prorector of the Academy of the Frisians, announcing the death of Peter Latane, Professor in Ordinary of Medicine and Botany: of the deceased's grandfather, the pastor of Mussidan, "His wife, who was the paternal grandmother of the eminent Deceased, was Susanna de Barrau whose father was Sieur de Fournir, of titled family, who held the rank of Count... This Susanna, though eagerly sought in marriage by many other men of higher station, happily and gladly preferred Peter Latane." -- PROVENANCE DISTANCE, STATED: this is a 1936 family history quoting its own translation of a photostat of the printed Programma. The Programma itself has NOT been read. Read personally 3 Aug 2026 in archive.org item parsonlatan1672100lata. This entry also decodes the tree's garbled [552] "Sier DeFournir DeBarrau": "Sieur de Fournir" is a title plus a designation, not a forename plus a surname. THAT NAME HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED HERE -- it awaits Owen's ruling.
