AUDITED 30 Sep 2026 - PARENTS NAMED IN A COMPILED BOOK, NOT YET ENTERED. Mitchell's Gholson genealogy (1950, ed. Scruggs Carruth) lists a 'Lucy Gholson m. Bush' among the five children of John Gholson of Orange Co., Va. and Esther Cook, and cites John Gholson's will - Orange Co. Will Book 3 p. 217, dated 2 Oct 1786, proved 26 Jul 1790 - as naming a daughter Lucy Bush. Not read on the page; held until it is (Owen, 30 Sep 2026). Her son is [2935] John Gholson Bush.
NOT THE SAME WOMAN: an older Lucy Gholson, daughter of Anthony Gholson, married a Stapp; on Mitchell's account she is this Lucy's aunt. Do not merge them.
