Research note · 7 Oct 2026
AUDITED 7 Oct 2026 - PROBABLY NOT THE MOTHER OF [2121] JOHN; FAMILY F606 HELD UNSPLIT (round-10 triage, Owen). A Massy Crow, wife of a Benjamin Jones, is named in records cited by thomasmoore.info (a compiled site; its citations not yet read here): Essex Will Books 18, 19 and 23 and the chancery suit Saunders v. Crow (1839). Her father John Crow's will (24 Jan 1820, proved 20 Nov 1820; WB 18 pp. 326-327, or WB 19 pp. 155-156 - the dossier gives both) calls her deceased; her daughter Polly was born c. 1810 and married 1828. On that dating she was born c. 1775-90 and cannot be the mother of [2121] John, born 1760; those pages name Polly, Lucy, Dorothy and Armistead, never John (agent-report-2138-massy-crow-2026-10-07.md). No Crow is entered and her death is left blank. Likely end state: F606 as the younger family, and [2121] in a family of [2137] Benjamin and an unknown wife - not made until one dated record is read. Deciding record: the Benjamin Jones x Massy Crow marriage bond, Essex, c. 1805-10.
