Research note · 2 Aug 2026
AUDITED 2 Aug 2026 - HIS RECORDED WIFE 'CAROLINE RAWLINGS' HAS BEEN DELETED AS NOT A PERSON. The published source this whole line descends from - A. C. Quisenberry, Memorials of the Quisenberry Family in Germany, England and America (1900), p. 7, read directly by Claude on 2 Aug 2026 at archive.org/download/memorialsofquise01quis - gives this man as: '12. Thomas Quesenbury, born in King George county and died in Caroline county, Virginia: DATES NOT KNOWN. MARRIED ____ and had'. The wife is a BLANK. 'Caroline Rawlings' and this tree's nonexistent place 'Caroline City, King George' are TWO SYMPTOMS OF ONE BAD PARSE of that single line: the DEATH COUNTY became both a fragment of a birthplace and a wife's given name. A free-web sweep found ZERO hits for the name against a control of 317/325. She carried no citation, no child link, no media and no note. ALSO FROM p. 7, AND NOT WRITTEN AS FACT: his death year is unknown, so this tree's 'd. 1795' is unsupported - it appears to be his son Aaron's 1795 death (which IS sourced) copied upward. Do not delete it without checking; it is flagged, not changed. WHAT IS ACTUALLY PROVEN about him: that he is the son of [3068] Humphrey, from a 1728 deed recital. FAIRNESS TO THE SOURCE: p. 7 is headed 'A CONSTRUCTIVE DESCENT', but the author's next sentence defends it as 'practically certain'. He labelled his work reconstructed and reliable, not speculative. This deletion does not rest on that heading - it rests on the blank. TREESHARE CANNOT DELETE REMOTELY: she must also be deleted on Ancestry tree 8103997 by hand.
