Research note · 24 Sep 2026
AUDITED 23 Sep 2026 - created by rm-apply-round5-burrus-waring-thaxton-notes-20260923.py as the father of [1189] Jane (Burrus) Quisenberry (round-5 triage A1). The proof lives in HER Audited note, not here.
THOMAS BURRUS of Orange County, Virginia. His will names "my daughter Jane Quisenberry" and was proved in Orange County on 23 March 1789 (1897 Genealogical Memoranda transcript pp. 190-191, cit 7030), so he was dead by that date. No birth or death fact is entered; no record read so far gives either. His wife is not entered: the will excerpt held names none.
24 Sep 2026 - HIS WIFE AND HIS PARENTS (round-6 triage A10, A11; Owen). WIFE: compiled abstracts of his will give his executors as Frances Burrus, Henry Tandy and his son Thomas, and compiled sources make Frances his widow and a Tandy, daughter of Roger Tandy - on the executor, on sons named William Tandy and Roger Tandy Burrus and a daughter Frances Tandy Bush, and on her own will of 25 Jan 1816, Christian County, Kentucky. All of that is abstracts; none has been read here. She is NOT entered as his wife in this family, because it is the family in which [1189] Jane is his child, and entering her would make her Jane's mother, which the round-5 ruling holds until the will itself is read (Orange Co., Va., proved 23 Mar 1789). PARENTS: Edmund Burrus and Elizabeth Woolfolk are NOT entered and are not to be researched. The claim traces to one 1897 family-tradition source, written by his great-great-grandson, and the Woolfolk half appears to be a later addition. It reopens only on a will of an Edmund Burrus naming a son Thomas. Dossier: agent-report-3444-thomas-burrus-2026-09-23.md.
