AUDITED 5 Aug 2026 - [562] MARIA ROSINA GARTENMEYER, first citation of any kind.Named in Gilbert Cope, Genealogy of the Sharpless Family (1887), p. 423, entry 685, as the mother of Philip Derrick [515]: "son of Christian Derrick and Maria Rosina Gartenmeyer, of Philadelphia". The source names her and places her at Philadelphia. It gives her no dates at all.⛔ STILL WHOLLY UNCITED: her 1747 birth (no place recorded in the tree either) and her death of 10 Sep 1798.⛔ NOT IN THE 1798 EPIDEMIC LIST. See the note on her husband [561] for the controlled negative - Condie and Folwell's List of Deaths for the 1798 Philadelphia yellow fever contains no Gartenmeyer and no Derrick, and the G run was read (Gardner, Garlany, Garwood). Her death three days after his remains unexplained and unsourced.☞ The surname is rare, which makes it a high-signal search term: try Gartenmeyer, Gartenmeier, Gartenmayer. Nothing was found in Record of Pennsylvania Marriages Prior to 1810 under any of them.
