AUDITED 30 Sep 2026 - PARENTS NAMED IN PRINT, NOT YET ENTERED. Gilbert Cope, Genealogy of the Sharpless Family (1887), entry 160, heads him 'William Sharples⁴, Nathan³' - in Cope's numbering, a son of Nathan - and gives his marriage 10 mo. 7, 1773 at Birmingham Meeting to [564] Ann Hunt (quoted from the archive.org OCR in derrick-sharpless-chesterco-search-2026-08-05.md; the page image of entry 160 has not been read). Hinshaw, Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy vol. II, Concord Monthly Meeting p. 257, abstracts the 1773 marriage minutes as 'William, s of Nathan (dec) & Hannah of Chester Co, Pa' (read 30 Sep 2026 from archive.org OCR only; agent-report-564-ann-hunt-2026-09-30.md). Cope compiled from family circulars, Hinshaw from the meeting's minutes; neither has yet been read on the page.
Owen, 30 Sep 2026: enter Nathan and Hannah once both pages are read on the image. Do not add a surname for Hannah - 'Townsend' is a research worker's guess. On any conflict the meeting register wins over Cope, and Cope over this tree's uncited dates. Of his children the tree holds only [516] Sarah; Cope lists seven, among them Nathan H. (b. 1779, entry 687).
