Adam Carroll and I want to invite you to join us and some of our songwriting friends in Concan, Texas this August for a small gathering we’ve been putting on for a few years now called the Frio River Song Festival. (To give you an idea of what it’s like, here are pictures from years’ past).
Ten songwriters, including Jason Eady, John Evans, The Trishas (including Jamie Lin Wilson, Savannah Welch, Liz Foster, & Kelley Mickwee), Michael Waters, Adam Carroll, and myself, are playing two shows that weekend on August 3 & 4.
On Friday, August 3rd, we’ll host an acoustic cabin concert songswap show by the river that is open to you email list subscribers only. This show is our thanks to you guys who keep in touch and help us spread the word about shows all year long. We appreciate it.
On Saturday, August 4th, we’ll put on a band show featuring songs from the above songwriters at the House Pasture Cattle Company.
Tickets for the Frio River Song Festival are available here.

Update: 365 Beers Challenge
In honor of Saint Arnold Brewery’s 18th anniversary of their first shipped keg this week, the 286th different beer I have tasted in 2012, is Homefront IPA.
Proceeds from sale of this brew benefit Operation Homefront of Texas, a group that provides emergency assistance to troops currently deployed and wounded ones during their transition to civilian life.
The complete list of beers is here. So I have only 77 to go on my challenge to drink 365 different beers in 2012. So, yes, I am ahead of schedule because I am good at this.
Some of the more interesting beers of the last 286….
