Summertime with kids means a desperate search for things to do to keep them occupied without burning up in the heat. So we have been in lakes, rivers, and even occasional thoroughly air-conditioned museums trying to make it through the afternoons.
I was looking at this geologic map at the Texas Memorial Museum, looking ahead to where my shows are happening in the next few weeks, and I found out that I’ll be singing and playing on land that’s:
- 1.5 million years old (Outrigger in Palacios, Main Street Crossing in Tomball, Mucky Duck in Houston),
- 40 million years old (Templin Saloon in Gonzalez)
- 140 million years old (Gruene Hall, Frio River Song Festival, Greenfest)

If you ever feel old, just look at a geologic time scale and see if afterward you don’t feel relatively young.

In more recent news (by a few million years), Jamie Lin Wilson and I were in the studio in June, and we’ve got a new project in the works that you will be there first to hear about. More details coming soon!

Also, Jamie, Adam Carroll, Chris Carroll, Kelley Mickwee, Michael Hearne, Chuck Hawthorne and I will be playing our songs at shows over 3 days on August 6, 7 & 8 at Frio River Song Festival in Concan, Texas near Garner State Park.
