My sketch/watercolor for a single I’m releasing this week has been a long time coming. The first song Jamie Lin Wilson and I ever wrote together – “John Wayne Cowboy”- was recorded powerfully by The Trishas, and I’ve always loved their version. Jamie and I also recorded our own take back in 2015, and our version is finally being released this Friday.
It’s the first song from a 3-song EP called Weathered, due out in July. This song is about people who aren’t just strong—they have heart. They’ve been through the heartbreak, pain, and joy and they show up anyway.
