Little Mexico on S. 1st Street has been in Austin as long as have been. A great spot for enchiladas, for the Jerry Jeff Walker queso, and for getting album cover photos taken. We came down here to grab a bite, and I paused to recreate my 3rd album’s cover 24 years later.
Gotta keep showing up at these spots. Sadly, Little Mexico is closing its doors at the end of the month.
But many old Austin institutions, like the Saxon Pub where I’m playing on Wed night, are still going strong.
