Closer Says Love

  1. More Problems

WRITTEN BY: OWEN TEMPLE & GABRIEL RHODES

When you were a kid, a beach holiday
You loved to play out in the waves
They came at you quick, sometimes knocked you down
Till you timed your jumps, you’d float and dive
You got the hang of it and felt more alive
Treat life like waves and it won’t turn you around
Though trials and troubles come at you fast
Yesterday’s struggles become the past
All the mysteries – you don’t have to solve them
But every good life, every good life is made of more problems

When closing time’s all said and done
The life of the party’s had his fun
We took his keys but we can’t take his pain
We’ve all had that one friend
Couldn’t call it a night, wouldn’t let it end
Never could make a clean getaway
But every loser has the chance to win
The good times can begin again right after hitting rock bottom
‘Cause every good life, every good life is made of more problems

On this you can rely on
I’ve learned that this is true
More bills you gotta pay
More stuff you gotta do
They’ll keep coming just like the waves you played on
Problems are what character is made on

When it’s time to hang my fiddle up
I won’t regret when I filled my cup
Even those hot nights when I got burned
Every time I swore and wished
And cussed and fought and shook my fist
The blessing was the struggle is what I finally learned
Each heartache somehow led me home
Ones I never really faced alone
Those lessons won’t never be forgotten
‘Cause every good life, every good life is made of more problems
Every good life, every good life is made of more problems
