Preview from the Studio

Just a quick note to say hello and hope all is well with you.

I’ve been in the studio a few times in the last few months. At the Finishing School here in Austin, Gordy Quist and an outstanding crew of musicians recorded 10 songs that I’m hoping to be able to share with you in the fall. Songwriting is kind of like fishing, and in the thumbnail of this preview video I am telling the guys a story about how big the song I caught was:

Here’s a preview video of a song we recorded called “Ain’t We Lucky”

Ten years ago, we recorded a show at the Saxon Pub and released it as a live album. So, to celebrate the decade, we’re doing it again. Before we tell anybody else about the project, I wanted to tell you newsletter subscribers- Here’s a new live album recorded at our most recent show at Saxon Pub:

Below is picture from the night of (L to R) Geoff Queen, me, Rick Richards, Tina Wilkins, Josh Flowers, Kelley Mickwee, and Gabe Rhodes:

Down at the beach, I played in the waves with my kids, and it sparked an idea for a new song called “More Problems.” I sang it on the porch recently:

In June, I’ll be releasing an EP of 3 songs called “Weathered.” I’m working on the album art now. Here’s the watercolor I made that I think I’ll use for the cover:

Thanks for listening. Wishes for peace and love to you, and I hope to see you out there soon,

Owen
