Rick Richards

Rick has played drums and percussion on some of my favorite recordings and he has played shows with me all over the country. He can lay down and lock in to a groove better than any other musician I have met.

You can hear him playing drums on my Mountain Home, Live at the Saxon Pub, Stories They Tell, Live in Austin, and Weathered albums.

He’s played on recordings with Slaid Cleaves, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Gurf Morlix, Lisa Morales, Hayes Carll, Tom Russell, Lisa Morales, Jason Eady, Jack Saunders, Charlie Faye, Audrey Auld, and hundreds of other artists.

His grooves are solid and irresistible, a foundation for everything else that might happen, and no musician can go too far wrong with Rick on drums and percussion.

Besides his rhythm skills, he is charming, funny, and kind and a great traveling companion.

At the Bugle Boy in La Grange, a muralist put us on the wall of the venue, and I got a picture of Rick beneath the image of his likeness.
