Hope your summer is going well-
It’s August, so lots of folks are getting their summer trips in now.
I remember when I was younger, parents used to take their kids to Six Flags in the summer, now they just take them to Buc-ee’s. (Buc-ee’s does have a thrilling “snack wall.”)
And I noticed that a bottle of water at Buc-ee’s is 99 cents, but a 20 pound bag of ice is also 99 cents. If only there was some way to get water from its solid form to its liquid form in the Texas summer, somebody could make a fortune.
As far as trips go, this next weekend, we’ll be near Garner State Park at the Frio River Song Festival, and you should join us. It is our 8th year of this tradition with some of my favorite songwriters in a beautiful part of the Texas hill country. You can still get tickets and passes here, and then you just pack up the car, stop by Buc-ee’s on the way, and meet us on Thursday, Friday or Saturday!
