In Saugerties, New York, when I drove by The Big Pink and it’s famous basement one afternoon in September 2022, I was tuned into the magic and songs The Band and Bob Dylan caught on tape there.
In 1967, this house was a musical laboratory and launchpad for so many beautiful sound waves that are still reverberating and bringing people together today.
I made a drawing of the house while I was listening to The Basement Tapes and Music from the Big Pink. (Prints of this drawing are available here.)
