A new song for your summertime roadtrip soundtrack — it’s single number 3 from the upcoming album Rings on a Tree. Thanks to NASA for sharing footage of some long trips with good views out the window:
I wrote the song with Brandon Bolin on a hot summer day when we were remembering the view from backseats 30 years earlier, when we were wishing to be anywhere but with our parents. We suddenly realized we were trying to relive those days, this time from the driver’s seat, with our own kids in the back wondering when we were going to ever stop the car.
I’ll be hitting the road later to sing this song and other new and old songs at shows in the towns listed below. And remember your dad’s all-important roadtrip rule, you can’t stop at the Dairy Queen off of the interstate if it’s “on the wrong side.”
