1907 In 1907, when drought and the boll weevil cut the Williamson County cotton crop by about 45 per cent, the Taylor correspondent singled out her husband's farm: B. F. Catchings, "a progressive farmer of the Beaukiss community, south of Taylor," had thirty acres of Rowden cotton "showing no effects of the drouth or weevils," with up to thirty-seven bolls on a stalk.

PROOF CLASS: BOTH PARENTS = DIRECT (reviewed 4 Sep 2026). Her 1929 Texas death certificate states the father in field 10 and the mother's maiden name in field 12. Audited 27 Jul 2026. BOTH PARENTS EVIDENCED. Death certificate, Refugio Co., 3 Jan 1929, B.O.V.S. 6225, image 40394_b061978-00730 (Texas, U.S., Death Certificates, 1903-1982 (Ancestry coll. 2272)): field 10 FATHER = 'Thomas Craig' (b. Penn.); field 12 MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME = 'Annie Porter' (b. Ind.); her own birthplace Indiana. This is the FIRST evidence of any kind in this tree for Thomas Craig, who carried zero citations. Corroborated by her son's 1944 certificate, which independently gives his mother's birthplace as Indiana.
