Upgrades on Grainger Co. (K588) or circuit minutes v.2 p.345. REVIEWED 11 Sep 2026 AND NOT GRADED - BOTH PARENTS stay 0/0 and work is STILL OWED. This is not a decline. Labelled by Owen on the ring-6 E2 card (ancestry/E2-ring6-triage-2026-09-08.md s.15). ⛔ CORRECTION TO ADDENDUM (7) BELOW: the 1830 'Elinor Rose' is NOT a new person. This tree already carries [3268] Eleanor Ella Crabb (uncited, b. 1767 Va., d. 1850 Franklin Co.) as his mother, married to [3267] John Thomas Rose (uncited, d. 1830 Franklin). A widow-shaped Elinor Rose aged 50-60 in Franklin Co. in 1830 is a candidate IDENTIFICATION of [3268] - matched on name, age bracket, county and widowhood - and the page is consistent with the tree's own claim (husband dead by 1830, she absent from the 1850 index). WHAT WAS ADDED 11 Sep 2026 (K592): Franklin Co. circuit court minutes, March 1838 (FS DGS 8478418), Den ex dem. Singleton v. Washington, Thomas, Stephen, Claiborn and 'Ella' Rose - an ejectment for one tract, 'the place where Washington Rose now lives', verdict for the plaintiff and a writ of possession; a fi. fa. of July 1837 in the loose court records (DGS 8272679, image 2402) names the same defendants. One household group on one tract; NO kinship stated in either. The loose court records 1800-1930, the county court minutes from 1832 and the circuit minutes are filmed and full-text indexed (K591); nothing before 1832 is filmed for the county court, so the 1827-32 minutes gap named earlier is not a document. ☞ UPGRADES ON, in order: (1) a GRAINGER Co., Tenn. record naming Eleanor as Joseph Crabb's daughter and John Rose's wife - the 1802 N.C. grant to Joseph Crabb dec'd 'given to the sons and daughters of Joseph', or an 1802-15 deed or partition by 'John Rose and Eleanor his wife' (Prall, K588; conflicts to carry: Prall's c.1783 vs the tree's uncited 1767 vs the 1830 bracket 1770-80, and 'John Rose' vs 'John Thomas Rose'); (2) the ejectment DECLARATION, circuit minutes vol. 2 p. 345, if it recites how the five Roses hold the tract; (3) a Franklin deed or guardianship reciting Washington as her son. Ralph Crabb of Franklin (1830 p. 55, d. by 1839) is ruled out as her father (K587, K595). CORRECTED 10 Sep 2026: the '1816 Putnam Co., Ga.' marriage cited below is Hull's Washington Rose x ELIZABETH McGEHEE (K570), not Sarah's; his wife is SARAH by the 1850 census (K572). REMOVED as duplicates/graft, all UNCITED: births 1792 Friendship Crockett TN; 1795 Friendship Crockett TN; 1795 Franklin County TN 'United States of America'; abt 1795 Tennessee. Deaths aft 23 Mar 1855 Friendship Crockett TN; 1855 Friendship Crockett TN; 1855 Franklin County TN 'USA'; 1855 Franklin County TN 'United States of America'. Also 2 duplicate alternate names. KEPT birth 1795 Franklin County TN and death 1855 Franklin TN. REASONING: his only source is 'Ancestry Family Trees' (no record evidence), so the 1792-vs-1795 and Franklin-vs-Crockett splits were two trees disagreeing, not two records. Franklin County is corroborated by the whole family - 11 children, both parents and his wife all recorded there - and by migration logic: he married in Putnam Co GA 1816 and the first child was born in TN 1818, which fits Franklin Co (south-central, near the GA/AL corner) far better than Crockett Co in far west TN. Crockett County was not formed until decades after his death, so that place string is a modern rendering from another tree. NOTE: no record evidence underlies ANY of his dates; a census would be the first real source. ADDENDUM 10 Sep 2026 - HIS FIRST RECORDS, and the marriage corrected. (1) 1830 census, Franklin Co., Tenn., p. 98, 'Washington Rose', read on the manuscript (K571): M <5:1, 10-15:2, 15-20:1, 30-40:1; F 5-10:1, 10-15:1, 15-20:1, 30-40:1 - one adult woman; a son 15-20 and daughters 15-20 / 10-15 born at or before 1816 (too old to be his own if he was born c.1795). Theodorus Crownover (M 30-40) is on the same page. (2) 1850 census, Franklin Co., Dist. 12, dwelling 1356, 28 Oct 1850, read on the manuscript (K572): Washington Rose 55, Farmer, $100, b. Tenn.; SARAH 50, b. Tenn.; Lucinda 19; Wallace 17; Hugh S. W. 14; Martin V. 12; William 9 - the first record to NAME his wife. William (b. c.1841) was not in the tree; added 10 Sep 2026. (3) The marriage this note used above - 'married in Putnam Co GA 1816' - was the tree's uncited F725 event, 11 Jul 1816, Putnam. Hull, Early records of Putnam County, Georgia, p. 74 (K570) has that date for 'ROSE, WASHINGTON - ELIZABETH McGEHEE'. A Tennessee-born Sarah of 16 is not that bride, so the event now reads 'before 1830', no place. Whether Elizabeth McGehee was an earlier wife of this man (dead before c.1822) or another Washington Rose's bride is OPEN: the decider is the Putnam Co. marriage book vol. A-D 1808-1842, FS film 394053 / DGS 5190977 (bondsman, consent), plus the Putnam 1820/1830 census images (ROSE pp. 205-212 in 1830). The FS records index holds no Rose x Crownover marriage 1805-1825 either way (K569, controlled). (4) His PARENTS remain unassessed: the Putnam bond's surety and the 1813 Putnam tax list (Howel Rose, Frederick Rose; K567) are the leads; 'Thomas J. Rose' and 'Elinor Rose' head households on the facing 1830 page (p. 97). (5) A candidate widow in 1860, Franklin 9th Dist.: 'Sarah Rose, 68, b. S.C.' with 'Wm, 18' (K573) - not identified. ADDENDUM 11 Sep 2026 - 1840, AND THE OTHER ROSES. (6) 1840 census, Franklin Co., p. 70, Patrick Callaway's division, Crow Creek Mountain, read on the image (K584): 'Washn Rose' M <5:1, 5-10:2, 10-15:1, 40-50:1; F 5-10:1, 10-15:1, 15-20:3, 40-50:1 - one woman 40-50 (Sarah aged forward), three daughters 15-20. Every Rose head in the county is on the page: Stephen (30-40; a woman 50-60 in his house), C. C. (40-50 - NOT the tree's Claiborne b. 1818 by age; re-read before use), Sebern (= Seaborn [3197]). (7) 1830 p. 97 (K585), the page before his: Thomas J. Rose (b. 1800-10) and ELINOR ROSE, b. 1770-80, heading a household with sons 15-20 and 20-30 and girls 15-20 and 5-10 - the first candidate mother-generation Rose for him; no Rose in the county in 1820 (K586). Nothing ties her to him but name, age and proximity; she is absent from the 1850 index, so her Franklin Co. estate or settlement 1840-50 (loose probate; the WPA indexes carry no Rose, K418 K533) is the named next document. (8) The Putnam question in (3) is CLOSED (K575, K576, K577): the Putnam marriage book holds the 11 Jul 1816 licence and same-day return for Washington Rose x Elizabeth McGehee with no bond, surety or consent, and a Washington Rose aged 30-40 heads a PUTNAM household in 1830 - a different man; Elizabeth McGehee never enters this tree and Sarah is his only wife on record. (9) His daughter Malissa [297]'s father half was graded 11 Sep 2026 on the summary named on her note.
