1856 When his father died in 1856, Rudolph and his eldest brother George were the two executors of the will. Their father left each of them $50 "for their trouble and Commission," and they later sold the land to their brother William and sister Hannah.

1899 In his last years he lived first in another man's house on North State Street in Ephrata, then at the German Baptist Brethren home near Manheim, where he died at 86.
