Research note · 30 Sep 2026
AUDITED 30 Sep 2026 - FIRST NOTE. Entered as mother of [198] Isaac Franklin Pace Jr., ungraded; the argument is in [198]'s note. Her son's 1948 Texas death certificate, no. 82702, read on the image, gives her maiden name only as "Mariah", with no surname. The 1850 census of Sabine County, Texas, read on the image, lists her as Moriah Ann, 28, born Louisiana, in the household of Isaac F. Pace. In 1860 she is Mariah Jackson, 38, born Louisiana, heading a household with three Pace children and J. W. Jackson, 4, so she had remarried by about 1855. Her maiden surname and her parents are unknown. Her Jackson marriage would have been recorded in Sabine County, whose records burned in 1875.
