PROOF CLASS: FATHER = DIRECT (Owen, 29 Sep 2026) - Thos. Yeatman's note with her 1798 bond: 'let Mr Richd Thompson have a licence to be married to my Daughter Sally Yeatman' (K894); his will: 'my daughter Sally Thompson' (K893).
FATHER LABELLED 11 Sep 2026 by Owen on the ring-6 E2 card (ancestry/E2-ring6-triage-2026-09-08.md s.15): reviewed, flag stays 0, work STILL OWED. Not a decline. The relationship is STATED by the record ('Thos. Yeatman, her father, gives his consent', 25 Jun 1798, Westmoreland Co., Va.), and the bride 'Sally Yeatman' who married Richard Thompson that day is this woman (F327 with [758]; citation 7063 sits on that marriage, citation 7067 on [3402]). But the project has read it only as three indexings of one bond (K96a, K100; ancestry/proof-summary-757-thompson-2026-09-07.md: 'three removes from the bond'), and the standard requires a record read by this project. No mother is in the tree for her and nothing here concerns that half.
☞ UPGRADES ON: the Westmoreland Co., Va. marriage bond and consent of 25 Jun 1798 read on the image (Library of Virginia; FS 'Virginia, County Marriage Records' if filmed) - a consent in the clerk's hand upgrades this to the class the record states; a fourth transcript does not.
AUDITED 8 Sep 2026 - her first, and it records WHERE THE EVIDENCE ALREADY IS rather than deriving anything. NO CLASS LINE IS WRITTEN: the father half is reviewed and still owed, and the flag stays 0.
THE EVIDENCE IN HAND. Citation C7067 on [3402] Thomas Yeatman has EMPTY ActualText and carries its whole content in the Page field: "Named as the father of the bride: 'Thos. Yeatman, her father, gives his consent', 25 June 1798. INDEXED RECORD, IMAGE NOT EXAMINED. He also consented to the 1793 marriage of Fanny Yeatman to Austin Pope, so Fanny is Sarah's sister."
⛔ THIS IS NOT A NEW FIND. It is register K96a, read 6 Aug 2026, and it is already written up as record 2 of ancestry/proof-summary-757-thompson-2026-09-07.md, where its provenance is graded honestly: a USGenWeb Early Marriages transcript of an ABSTRACT of a bond, reached via the Wayback Machine, with NO NAMED CONTRIBUTOR - three removes from the instrument.
★ WHY IT WAS INVISIBLE FROM HERE: the read was filed under her DAUGHTER's link ([757] Eliza Ann Thompson) and under her own role as the mother in it. Her OWN parentage worklist never showed it. That is the fifth instance in this project of the K508/K516 shape - the deciding read filed on another person's link.
☞ NAMED NEXT: the Westmoreland Co., Virginia MARRIAGE BOND IMAGE itself at the Library of Virginia, 25 Jun 1798, Richard Thompson and Sally Yeatman. A consent in the clerk's own hand upgrades this to a record; another transcript does not.
29 Sep 2026 - A SECOND ROUTE TO UPGRADE THE FATHER HALF (round-7 triage, Owen). The will of Thomas Yeatman of Westmoreland County, dated 4 Apr 1808, recorded in Deeds & Wills Book 22 pp. 158-159 and proved 26 Nov 1810, gives "to my daughter Sally Thompson all the property and cash that she and her husband Rich[d] Thompson has rec[d] of mine", as transcribed in W. C. Yeatman, The Yeatmans in America (1933), pp. 17-18 (register K886). Read on the image it would name her, her father and her husband in one record. Until then it is a transcript, and the grade above is unchanged. It is in the same Westmoreland records as the 1798 bond.
29 Sep 2026 - THE FATHER HALF IS CLOSED ON THE IMAGES (Owen accepted the upgrade the 11 Sep ruling named; the 'still owed' paragraphs above are the history of this grade).
QUESTION: is [3402] Thomas Yeatman the father of [759] Sarah 'Sallie' Yeatman?
EVIDENCE: (1) Westmoreland Co., Va. marriage bond, 25 Jun 1798, Richard Thompson and Edward Sanford, 'a Marriage suddenly to be Solemnized between the above bound Richd. Thompson & Sally Yeatman', with the note filed with it (98-18a): 'Dr Sir / Be please to let Mr Richd. Thompson have a licence to be married to my Daughter Sally Yeatman / Yr Thos. Yeatman', to Mr James Bland, 25 Jun 1798. Read on the image, FamilySearch DGS 7490270 image 493, register K894. (2) Will of Thomas Yeatman of Westmoreland, dated 4 Apr 1808, proved 26 Nov 1810, Deeds & Wills 22 p. 159: 'I give & bequeath to my daughter Sally Thompson all the property & Cash that she and her husband Richd. Thompson has recd. of mine'. Read on the image, DGS 7645879 image 749, register K893. Each record states the relationship; they are two instruments made ten years apart.
IDENTITY: that the 1798 bride is this woman rests on records independent of both: her daughter [757]'s 1868 obituary, 'daughter of Richard and Sarah Thomson', born Westmoreland 1806 (K161); the 1883 Howard and Cooper and the 1882 Pettis county histories, which name the mother of two different Thompson sons as Sallie Yeatman (K96b); and the Westmoreland marriage abstract, which holds only one Richard Thompson married to a Sally or Sarah (K516). The bond's surety, Edward Sanford, is the husband of the will's 'Daughter Patty Sanford' (K893, K894).
CONFLICTS: the older wording 'Thos. Yeatman, her father, gives his consent' (K96a, K100) is an indexer's paraphrase of the note above, not a separate record. The county's other Richard Thompson married Jane Nelson on 23 Mar 1796 (K895).
WOULD OVERTURN IT: a second Thomas Yeatman of Westmoreland with a daughter Sally who married a Richard Thompson in 1798.
