READ FROM THE CENSUS IMAGE BY CLAUDE in Owen's signed-in Chrome, 1 Aug 2026 (not from the index — see the two index errors this caught). Ancestry coll. 8054 rec. 4010985. NARA RG29 M432 Roll 411 p. 198b, line 26, dwelling/family 38. Image 4200571_00405, 6 of 31. Margaret Cavens 54 no occupation real estate $400 b. KENTUCKY John T Cavens 27 · George M Cavens 16 · Margaret E Cavens 12 ⭐ MATCHES THE TREE: Margaret 54 = [891] Margaret E Gorham b.1796 Louisville, Jefferson Co., KENTUCKY — birthplace and age both exact · John T 27 = [914] John T. Cavins b.1823 · George M 16 = [917] George b.1834 · Margaret E 12 = [918] Margaret E. b.1838. ⭐⭐ THE IMAGE CORRECTED THE INDEX, IN THE TREE'S FAVOUR: the index reads 'John L Cavens'; the image reads 'John T.', matching [914] John T. Cavins. Had this citation gone in on the index it would have carried a wrong middle initial. ⭐ A FEMALE HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD, no husband enumerated, no occupation, $400 in real estate is exactly the shape of the widow of a man who died in 1846 — [890] William Cavins. ⛔ THE RECORD DOES NOT SAY 'WIDOW'. That is an inference from the household's shape plus the tree's death date, and [890] IS DELIBERATELY NOT LINKED TO THIS CITATION for that reason. ⭐ SAME TOWNSHIP as the Mansfield household above, independently supporting the Mansfield-Cavins in-law link found 31 Jul. ⚠️ The birthplace column flips to 'Mo.' at Margaret E (12, b. c.1838), the parents reading Ky — a Kentucky->Missouri move c.1834-38 INDICATED by the same ditto-mark reading as the Mansfield household. Not written as a fact.
