"Le six juillet mil sept cent soixante quatorze j'ai baptise rene etienne Desire, ne le dix huit 7bre de l'annee derniere, fils legitime de M Jean Joseph bourdet, hab.t de cette paroisse, Cap.ne de la Compagnie des dragons mulatres, & de dame marie eutrope de Lagautraye ses pere & mere; Le parain a ete M Jean Desire gentilot, hab.t de [cette] paroisse [de]s Cayes & la maraine dame renee mondiere epouse de M Juste marraud des Cortieres, hab.t de cette paroisse, grande mere de l'enfant... ainsi signe, mondiere marraud, LEFEBURE LAGAUTRAYE, Bourdet, Lagautraye Bourdet, gentilot, LEFEBURE GENTILOT, f. thomas Cure avec plusieurs autres." The two capitalised signatures in this act are the two Lefebvre sisters signing one and the same document: [1615], wife of Boyer de la Gautraye, and [3328], wife of Gentillot - alive and distinct in July 1774. The act names both parents of the child.

Torbeck, Saint-Domingue, 6 July 1774 (ANOM parish register, registre fol. 41r): baptised 'rene etienne Desire', born 18 September 1773, 'fils legitime de M Jean Joseph bourdet... & de dame marie eutrope de Lagautraye ses pere & mere'. Both parents are named in the act, which is why the parent links here are set proven.
Godfather Jean Desire Gentilot, his uncle by marriage; godmother Renee Mondiere, named in the act as 'grande mere de l'enfant', his paternal grandmother.
He fills the gap at the head of this sibship: F505's six previously-recorded children begin about 1776, and all six carry no citation of any kind.
OBSERVATION, RECORDED AS INFERENCE AND NOT AS THE REGISTER'S STATEMENT: his parents' marriage act of 20 Feb 1773 grants a dispensation from two of the three banns, and he was born about seven months later on 18 Sep 1773. The register states both of those facts separately; the connection drawn between them is mine, not the register's.
