PROOF CLASS: BOTH PARENTS = INFORMANT (insufficient) - Owen 15 Aug 2026, recorded 7 Sep - Feild 1961 states the filiation but is the tree's own source for his birth date. Reopens on plan 13a items 2-6; the Hempstead probate is spent (K213). AUDITED 7 Sep 2026 - ring-5 E2 triage (register K522). This RECORDS A DECISION OWEN TOOK ON 15 AUG 2026 which until today existed only in parentage-rings-plan.md and lanes.csv; this person had NO Audited note, so nothing in the database could tell a reviewed link from an unopened one. WHAT IS IN HAND. The only statement of his parentage is Talbot Feild, "The Edwards Family", in Texarkana Pioneer Family Histories (1961) - "Meredith Walton and Martha 'Patsey' Harpole Props Edwards had the following children: Thomas Jefferson Edwards, born Hempstead County, Arkansas Territory, died Rondo, Ark., July 29, 1877, age 50 years, 9 months and 28 days" - quoted as E6 in crouch-edwards-cully-search-2026-08-04.md. WHY IT DOES NOT CARRY. It is a family compiler writing about 84 years after the death. It agrees with itself: the tombstone age back-calculates to 1 Oct 1826 and the tree carries 30 Sep 1826, so the tree's birth date most likely came from this very document. The two other supporting passages - the "grandmother Mrs. Merideth Walton Edwards" anecdote and the parallel statement for his brother William Propps Edwards - are the same compiler in the same chapter, and are not three witnesses. FEILD'S RELIABILITY IS NOW MEASURED RATHER THAN ASSUMED, AND IT CUTS BOTH WAYS. His parents share citation 7068, the Hempstead County, Arkansas Territory marriage register, read on the page image by Owen Temple 6 Aug 2026: "I certify that I did on the 22nd day of September 1825 Join together in a holy State of matrimony according to law, Meriditth W Edwards and Patsy H Props." Two published abstracts disagreed on the date and the original register vindicates Feild against the USGenWeb transcription; the register also corroborates both middle names independently, WALTON and HARPOLE. Against that, the same citation records Feild erring three times in one paragraph against the Rondo gravestones on the Culley parentage. A compiler who is right where he is checkable on DATES and wrong where he is checkable on PARENTAGE is an informant, not a proof. ⛔ AND THE MARRIAGE MAY NOT BE USED TO BOUND HIS BIRTH. The 22 Sep 1825 marriage precedes the tree's 30 Sep 1826 birth by twelve months, which is superficially the shape that closed [104] Fowlkes at K402 - a birth sitting inside a marriage evidenced at its start. It does not work here: that birth date is downstream of Feild, the very document under test, and the Rondo stone is known only through Feild. The argument would be circular. This is recorded so that a later session does not re-derive it and mistake it for new evidence. WHAT WOULD REOPEN THIS: parentage-rings-plan.md section 13a items 2-6 - a guardianship bond, a deed of gift, his own 1877 Rondo estate (Lee or Phillips Co., Ark.), a Civil War pension file, or a compiler demonstrably independent of Feild, where independence is SHOWN and not assumed. ⛔ Item 1, the Hempstead County probate of Meredith Walton Edwards, is SPENT: K213 read it on the images 17 Aug 2026, the $41.50 estate vested absolutely in the widow, the administrator was discharged in three months and no child is named anywhere in the proceeding. DATA DEFECT, RECORDED AND NOT FIXED HERE. His ONLY citation, 862, is an Arkansas death certificate "Year: 1932" for a man who died in 1877, 37 years before that collection begins. It is in fact his son [1246] John Culley Edwards's certificate, correctly linked to [1246]'s death and Audited events and ADDITIONALLY linked at person level to this person - which is why research-board.py scores him SOURCED. He has no citation that is actually about him.
