INFORMANT: item 22 'Mozelle Ramsay, wife' (handwritten signature) - [125] Mozelle (Coe) Ramsay, his wife since their 1934 Franklin County marriage and so a daughter-in-law of both people named, who died at Mt. Vernon within her married life (Henry 1953, Emma 1982); she is also the 'Mozelle Coe' of item 13. Not a child of the couple named. The 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses of Franklin County (citations on this person) carry him in Henry and Emma Ramsay's household. AUDITED 15 Oct 2026 - PARENTS PROVEN ON HIS OWN STATE VITAL RECORD. Until today this link rested on the census households alone (the 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses of Franklin County, Texas, carry him with Henry F. and Emma Ramsay; Ancestry transcriptions on this person, the 1930 image on disk) and both proof flags were 0. Every online instrument had been closed with controls (register K269: the SS-5/SSACI record has no parent fields; the 1934 Franklin Co. marriage sheet has no parent block; TSLAC holds no Franklin Co. death series), so the certificate was ordered from Texas DSHS by mail on 25 Aug 2026; the certified copy was issued 5 Oct 2026 and read 15 Oct 2026. THE CERTIFICATE. Texas certificate of death, state file no. 142-98-092899, local registrar's file 02-0036-98, typed, read in full on the certified copy (register K1040): "Thomas Landon Ramsay", male, born "Aug. 28, 1904" at "Mt. Vernon, Texas", died "June 3, 1998" at 5:40 a.m. as an inpatient at East Texas Medical Center, Mt. Vernon, Franklin County, aged 93, of metastatic carcinoma of the prostate; married, surviving spouse "Mozelle Coe"; rancher and trucker, beef cattle; residence I-30 and S. Service Road, Mt. Vernon. Item 16, father's name "Henry F. Ramsay"; item 17, mother's maiden name "Emma Holder". Buried 5 Jun 1998, City Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, block 11, lot 4, space 1, by Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home. IDENTITY AND FIT. The certificate's birth date and place match this person's birth event exactly (28 Aug 1904, Mount Vernon); its death date and place match his death event and the Social Security Death Index citation; and its surviving spouse is [125] Mozelle Coe, whom he married in Franklin County in 1934 (Franklin County marriage records, vol. F p. 345). The parents it names are the parents already attached in this tree, [200] Henry Fisher Ramsay (1873-1953) and [161] Emma Holder (1878-1982), both of Mt. Vernon; "Holder" is the maiden surname that Emma's own 1982 certificate and the 1880 census establish (see [161]). This same man signed as informant on both of those parents' death certificates (K249 in 1953, K246 in 1982), so the three records are mutually consistent, and this one closes the loop from the other direction: a record of HIS death naming THEM. WHAT IS NOT CLAIMED. The informant is his wife, not a child of the couple named, so the parentage is her report of her husband's family as she knew it over sixty-four years (see the INFORMANT line); no record in hand was made by Henry or Emma themselves naming Thomas as their son, and none is needed for the class. Nothing on this certificate speaks to the generation above Henry and Emma. The certificate's other particulars (education, cause of death, the hospital) are in the citation transcript and are not adopted as facts in this tree.
