AUDITED 7 Sep 2026 - THE RECORD THAT STATES BOTH PARENTS WAS ALREADY ON LOCAL DISK, CITED THREE TIMES OVER, AND HAD NEVER BEEN OPENED. Registers K508-K514. No browser session and no errand: ten images opened off the disk. SUPERSEDES THE 4 SEP LABEL, which read "BOTH PARENTS = UNDERDETERMINED (4 Sep 2026; route corrected 5 Sep). The flags read 1 but THIS NOTE EVIDENCES HIS DEATH, NOT HIS PARENTS." That was true of the NOTE and false of the CORPUS - the deciding record was already cited on him. proof-standard.md 2a names this person as its case 3; the case stands as a warning about notes and is now closed for him. NAME OF FATHER: "Richard J. Bond". MAIDEN NAME OF MOTHER: "Anna Thompson". The rest of it: John B. Bond, male, white, married; date of birth Nov. 23 1837; age 77 yrs 7 mos 13 days; occupation Physician and Surgeon; birthplace Pa.; father's birthplace Pa.; mother's birthplace Pa.; died July 16 1915 of entero-colitis, contributory senility; burial or removal 7-19; undertaker W. H. Hubbard, Bisbee; signed O. B. Patton, Bisbee; filed Aug 23 and Aug 25 1915. THAT IS SHAPE A UNDER proof-standard.md 2c - the record STATES the relationship, in the two fields printed for exactly that purpose. WHY IT WAS INVISIBLE - the image was cited THREE separate times: on this person (cit 1740), on [756] (cit 4394) and on [757] (cit 4397). Every one carried empty ActualText and no media row, and documents-read-index.md had no row for it. Somebody had already worked out that this document was the evidence for both parents and attached it to all three people. Nobody opened it. K490 said LEN=0 measures transcription and not possession; K499 said a partial read files as a read; K503 said a read can be recorded on someone else's note. This one was never read at all, three times over. THE MIDDLE INITIAL WAS CALIBRATED, NOT EYEBALLED - the glyph in "Richard _. Bond" does not match the T of "Thompson" two lines below it on the same page (a tall looped stem with a left flag) and does match the J of "John" in the FULL NAME field, so it is read J. RECORDED AS UNCERTAIN, and it matters slightly: [802] Richard Thompson Bond, this man's own brother, is a "Richard T. Bond", so a T reading would put a brother's exact name in the father's field. Either way the field is NAME OF FATHER and both name elements match [756]. THE INFORMANT IS HIS OWN DAUGHTER - the certificate is signed "Mrs. H. S. H[ollis]", address Warren. The 1915 obituaries below name a surviving daughter "Mrs. H. S. Hollis" [285] with those exact initials (K230/K231). The surname glyph is heavy and only its initial H is certain; the two given initials are not in doubt and they are what decides the identification. So the statement is a daughter's, taken at a deathbed 2,000 km from where the parents lived and died. IT STATES THE RELATIONSHIP; IT DOES NOT CORROBORATE ITSELF. THE CORROBORATION, and it is what fixes "Anna Thompson" as [757] Eliza Ann Thompson: 1. 1850 U.S. CENSUS, District 61, Montgomery Co., Missouri, enumerated 31 Aug 1850 by Cole Diggs, page 187 (stamped 373), dwelling and family 272; image 4200567_00379, cit 4392 on [756]; register K509. COLUMNS READ: dwelling no., family no., name, age, sex, colour, occupation, value of real estate, PLACE OF BIRTH, attended school. NOT read: married-within-the-year, deaf/dumb/blind. THE HOUSEHOLD: "Richard Bond, 49, Meth. Minister, $1,500 real estate, b. Va." - "Eliza, 43, b. Va." - "Sarah, 18, b. Va." - "John, 13, b. Penn" - "Richard, 11, b. Penn" - "Missouri, 9, b. Mo." - "Henry, 7, b. Mo." - "Miller, 1, b. Mo." - Evaline Redman 37 - Susan Drury 15 - Martha 40. THE 1850 SCHEDULE HAS NO RELATIONSHIP COLUMN, so this is co-residence, ages and a dwelling number and it STATES nothing - proof-standard.md 2a case 2. ALIGNMENT CONTROL, NAMED IN ADVANCE: five children must match five known people on age AND birthplace, in birth order, or the mapping is wrong. [760] Henry Pope b. 13 May 1843 Danville MISSOURI -> 7, Mo. FIVE FOR FIVE ON TWO FIELDS EACH, IN ORDER; any one-row shift breaks all five. And the parents: [757] Eliza b. 17 Jun 1806 is exactly 43 on the census date of 1 June 1850, turning 44 sixteen days later, so the written age is exact and not approximate; [756] Richard b. 18 Oct 1800 -> 49. AND IT IS NOT CIRCULAR, WHICH IS THE POINT THAT MATTERS - those five birthplaces were not taken from this census. [756]'s own note records them corroborated on 25 Jul 2026 against the MEC GENERAL MINUTES 1829-39 annual appointments (Westmoreland, Lancaster, Fairfax, Great Falls, GETTYSBURG 1836-37, CHAMBERSBURG 1838-39, Hollidaysburg) and the 1906 Centennial Volume of Missouri Methodism - a completely different corpus, read six weeks before this image was opened. So the census match tests the tree against an independent record rather than against itself (dont-grade-with-the-link-youre-proving). 2. 1900 U.S. CENSUS, Big Rock Twp, Little Rock city Ward 2, Pulaski Co., Arkansas, ED 74, sheet 20B, enumerated 14 June 1900 by Hattie P. COLUMNS READ, anchored on the printed header: name, relation, colour, sex, birth month, birth year, age, marital status, years married, children born, children living, col 13 place of birth of this person, col 14 place of birth of FATHER, col 15 place of birth of MOTHER, occupation. "Bond, John B., Head, W M, Nov 1836, 63, M 35 - Pennsylvania / MARYLAND / VIRGINIA - Druggist"; "Julia S., Wife, Jan 1848, 52, M 35, 9 children born and 5 living - Arkansas / Maryland / Alabama"; sons Sterling P. (May 1868, physician), John B. Jr (Oct 1869), R. Thompson (Sept 1871), daughter Josephine S. (June 1876), son William C. (June 1877). [756] is recorded born Baltimore County, MARYLAND and [757] born Westmoreland Co., VIRGINIA - the exact pair, reported by this person in his own house fifteen years before the certificate. ALIGNMENT CONTROL, INTERNAL: the five children's col 14 reads "Pennsylvania", which is the head's own col 13, and their col 15 reads "Arkansas", which is the wife's own col 13. That pattern is only consistent under the correct row mapping and goes red under a one-row shift in either direction. Second control, adjacent: the row above (Lackteher, George, brother-in-law, Arkansas / Switzerland / Switzerland) belongs to the Rue household and is legibly Swiss. 3. 1910 U.S. CENSUS, same ward, ED 110, sheet 17B, 27 Apr 1910, dwelling 401 family 377; image 31111_4327252-00716, cit 1710; register K511. "Bond John B. Sr, Head, M W 73, M1 46 - Pennsylvania / United States / VIRGINIA - manufacturer, Drugs"; Julia B., wife, 64, M1 46, 9 children born and 3 living. VIRGINIA for the mother a second time; the father's column is an uninformative "United States". Same internal control as 1900, green. 4. 1870 U.S. CENSUS, 1st Ward Little Rock, page 224, 15 June 1870, dwelling 474 family 523; image 4259292_00447, cit 1715; register K511. "Bond John B, 33, M, W, Physician, real estate $7,000, personal $500, b. Penn". The 1870 schedule has no relationship column and no parents'-birthplace columns; its cols 11 and 12 are yes/no flags for FOREIGN birth and both are blank, i.e. both parents native-born. Neither parent could be present: [757] died 12 Jul 1868 and [756] 7 Mar 1853. COUNTED HONESTLY - 1900 and 1910 are ONE INFORMANT REPEATED, this person's own household ten years apart, not two records. The genuine independence here is THREE: a daughter in 1915, the parental household in 1850, and his own adult household. THE CONFLICTS, RECORDED AND NOT SMOOTHED: - THE CERTIFICATE GIVES BOTH PARENTS' BIRTHPLACES AS "Pa." AND BOTH ARE WRONG. 1900 says Maryland and Virginia; 1850 says Va. and Va. The informant is a daughter reporting on grandparents dead since 1853 and 1868, in a family that had been Pennsylvanian when her father was born. An ordinary guess, and it does not touch the NAMES the same record states. - THE CERTIFICATE'S DATE OF BIRTH, "Nov. 23, 1837", contradicts this tree's 22 Nov 1836, the 1850 age of 13 and 1900's "Nov 1836" - and contradicts ITSELF, since 77y 7m 13d back from 16 Jul 1915 lands on 3 Dec 1837. The 1915 Gazette obituary independently prints "November 15, 1837", so the two 1915 informant sources agree on 1837 against the two census returns, which agree on 1836. NO DATE EDITED. - THE MOTHER'S GIVEN NAME is "Anna" on the certificate, "Eliza" in the 1850 census, "Eliza Ann Bond" in her own 1868 obituary (K161) and "Eliza Ann Thompson" in this tree. The SURNAME is exact; "Anna" is the second element of hers. Owen graded the mother half on 7 Sep 2026 on that basis together with the corroboration above. - THE 1850 CENSUS GIVES RICHARD'S OWN BIRTHPLACE AS "Va." against this tree's Baltimore County, MARYLAND and against 1900's Maryland. UNRESOLVED. It is a claim about where Richard was born, not about whose son John was, and it does not bear on this grade. - 1880 (5th Ward Little Rock, page 351C, 8 June 1880, dwelling 218 family 256; image 4239967-00005, cit 1714; register K511) ANSWERED "not known" FOR BOTH PARENTS' BIRTHPLACES, and mis-stated his own as "Ark" against Penn in 1870, Pennsylvania in 1900 and Pennsylvania in 1910. THAT IS THE RECORD THAT EXPLAINS WHY THIS HALF SAT UNGRADED: the one enumeration in his whole corpus that ASKS for both parents' birthplaces could not answer. WHAT WOULD OVERTURN IT - a record naming a different Richard Bond and Anna or Eliza Ann Thompson as the parents of a John B. Bond born in Pennsylvania in 1836-37, or evidence that the 1850 Montgomery Co. household is not this family. [756]'s or [757]'s own probate, or a Bond family Bible, would test it directly; neither has been located. TWO THINGS FOUND IN THE SAME PASS AND DELIBERATELY NOT ACTED ON: - THE "Arkansas, Death Certificates, 1914-1969" CITATION ON THIS PERSON IS NOT HIS. Cit 1737, image 61777_01_00210-00650, is the 1952 Arkansas certificate of his SON [286] William Cates Bond (state file E-647, reg. dist. 529, Pulaski Co.; b. 24 June 1877 Little Rock, d. 4 Jan 1952 at St. Vincent's Infirmary, Pres. of Bond Pharmacy Co., buried Mt. Holly). It states "FATHER'S NAME: John B. Bond" and "MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME: Julia Sterling" - a DIRECT grading for [286], filed on his father where nothing looking for it would find it. Ring-4 collateral, same scope caution as K495. Register K513. It corroborates but does not introduce "Julia Sterling", which is already below from the 1915 Gazette biography. - THE CIVIL WAR DRAFT CITATIONS ARE VERY LIKELY A DIFFERENT MAN. Cits 1716 and 1734, image 32178_1220705228_0140-00115: Consolidated Enrollment List, Class I, 12th Congressional District of PENNSYLVANIA (Luzerne and Susquehanna Cos.), June 1863, line 16 - "Bond John, 27, White, Merchant, Married, b. Pa., residence Hazleton Boro". Against him: he was 26 on 1 July 1863; a physician, not a merchant; unmarried until 1864; and his family had left Pennsylvania by 1841, with the 1850 census placing him in Montgomery Co., Missouri. The list carries no middle initial. Four fields disagree. A CANDIDATE DETACH for Owen, NOT detached - TreeShare does not propagate a detach, so it is browser work. And the negative is scoped: this says the enrolment list is not him, not that he was never enrolled. Register K514. STILL UNOPENED ON HIM, ON PURPOSE - four Newspapers.com clippings whose own captions state their subject (Cornerstone Laid, 16 Aug 1899; Letter to Editor about Philippines, 18 Nov 1899; Toastmaster at Dinner, 14 Jun 1900; Contributions to Democrats by Bonds, 8 Oct 1912). Civic colour; no parentage field is possible in any of them. NAMED RATHER THAN SILENTLY SKIPPED, per K499. AUDITED 21 Aug 2026 - THE 1915 LITTLE ROCK OBITUARIES AND FUNERAL REPORT READ ON THE IMAGES (K230-K231): burial MOUNT HOLLY CEMETERY, MON 19 JUL 1915; the survivor list names TWO BROTHERS AND A SISTER; birth-date conflict RECORDED, NOT EDITED. SURVIVORS (Arkansas Democrat 17 Jul p10 + Daily Arkansas Gazette 17 Jul p5, verbatim in the citations): wife [the Gazette adds she was WITH him in Warren] - daughter Mrs. H. S. Hollis [285] - sons John Jr. [185] and William C. [286], both of Little Rock - brothers 'Rev. H. P. Bond of El Paso' = [760] Henry Pope Bond, and 'Prof. F. T. (Democrat) / R. T. (Gazette) Bond of Fayette, Mo.' - the Gazette's R. T. matches [802] Richard Thompson Bond and F326 holds NO F. T., so the Democrat's initial is the error - sister 'Mrs. McIllehancy' [= McIlhany] of Fayette: WHICH sister ([803] Sarah Louisa? [804] Missouri Anna?) is OPEN, no record read ties one to a McIlhany marriage - five grandchildren. BIRTH CONFLICT: the Gazette prints 'born November 15, 1837, at Gettysburg, Pa.' (clean type) against the tree's 22 Nov 1836 (E922). The Democrat printed the same passage UPSIDE DOWN (compositor error) with the year misprinted '1887'. Obituary birth dates are informant-derived - no date edited. BIOGRAPHY (Gazette): 1861 Missouri State Guard; after the battle of Lexington Gov. Jackson commissioned him surgeon of the guard; surgeon, Col. Theo Brace's regiment; then CSA surgeon with Little's division of Price's army; trans-Mississippi Department 1863; medical purveyor of Arkansas under Surgeon James M. Keller to the war's close; m. Julia Sterling 1864; drug business 1872; ~20 yrs State Board of Pharmacy, president ~15; declined reappointment May 1915 for health.
