Research notes

Working notes from the research, kept verbatim — what was read, what it proved, what stays open. Many open with a line grading the parentage; what the grades mean.

Research note · 30 Oct 2026
PROOF CLASS: FATHER = DIRECT - his obituary (Bradshaw-Carter, Houston, Oct 2026; register K1508) says he was born 'to Barbara (née Chase) and W. Temple Webber, Jr'. PROOF CLASS: MOTHER = DIRECT - the same obituary (register K1508) names her as his mother, 'Barbara (née Chase)'. INFORMANT: his family (no writer named), published within the month of his death by the funeral home that handled it. AUDITED 30 Oct 2026 - DIED 1 OCT 2026. Read in full: his obituary, Bradshaw-Carter Memorial & Funeral Services, Houston (register K1508; transcript in ancestry/sources/webber-142-obituary-2026-10-30/). It says he 'passed away Thursday, October 1, 2026, culminating a twelve-year, well-fought battle with cancer. He was 70 years old', and that he was 'Born in Lufkin, Texas on June 4, 1956' - the birth date this tree already held; Lufkin is the seat of Angelina County, the tree's earlier birthplace. 'The family held a private interment at Glenwood Cemetery on Friday, October 9, 2026.' It does not say where he died, so no death place is entered. It names his father [165] (d. 2014) and his brother [670] Christopher Wheeler Webber (d. 2001) as having died before him, and his wife [224], sister [225], brother [166] and three children [800] [798] [721] among his survivors - every one of them already in this tree.
